Hmm, tak se zda, ze LHC pripravuje vlastni Computer Grid: LHC Computing Project (LCG), a o BOINC jsem tam nenasel zadnou zminku. Kdyz se podivate na stranku Planning a nektere ty PDF dokumenty, tak je videt, ze na tom maka dost velky tym lidi a, ze asi maji o hodne jiny budget, nez BOINC. To planovani bezi uz od roku 2001, ale zatim jsem to moc nestudoval podrobne, takze mi neni jasne, jestli je cely ten humbuk a ty tuny dokumentu jen cira teorie, nebo jestli uz jim neco konkretne funguje. Podle toho, ze vyuzivaji BOINC, pocitam, ze to asi zase moc dobre neprobiha.

V clanku z CERN bulletinu z minuleho roka (marec 2005) som nasiel nasledujucu pasaz, ktora by mohla trocha osvetlovat preco vyvijaju aj nieco popri Boinci - jeenoducho chcu mat nieco vlastne, pretoze Boinc sa da pouzit len na niektore typy vypovtov, ale CERN potrebuje mat silny computing network aj na ine veci ako napr. priama analyza vystupnych dat z experimentov, ktora je extremne narocna nielen na CPU vykon ale najma na toky a prenosy dat a Boinc ju preto nemoze robit. Je to presne to co som uz zoparkrat tu na fore spominal - Boinc je fajn na niektore predbezne ci ciastkove analyzy/vypocty, ale nie na analyzu toho co LHC po spusteni bude produkovat ako hlavny vedecky output. Pravdepodobne ale aj po spusteni LHC bude Boinc stale vyuzivany na ine vhodne ulohy z oblasti fyziky vysokych energii.
